Job Description


We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Compliance Specialist to join our HR team. This role is essential in overseeing the design and implementation of the company’s compliance framework, ensuring alignment with legal, regulatory, and operational requirements. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting audits, managing reporting obligations, and adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws as our company continues to expand across the country. This position requires extensive administrative, compliance, and legal experience/knowledge, problem solving abilities, and a high degree of professionalism in managing relationships across the organization and with external partners.

This is a full-time, on-site role, in Austin, Texas

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm

Compensation: $25.00-$28.00

Job Responsibilities

  • Audit Workers’ Compensation Bills to ensure accurate billing and proper claims management.
  • Conduct Internal Compliance Audits, including vendor evaluations and cross-department reviews.
  • Manage Federal and State Regulatory Reporting (e.g., OSHA, FMLA, EEOC), with a strong emphasis on OSHA compliance and submissions.
  • Support and Navigate Multi-Entity Structures, including knowledge of LLC frameworks
  • Draft, Update, and Enforce Company Policies in alignment with employment laws and organizational needs
  • Partner closely with Legal, Payroll, and HR Business Partners (HRBPs) to ensure proper classification and compensation practices (e.g., PTO accruals, FLSA compliance).
  • Provide compliance support related to sales compensation structures and employee classification.

  • High attention to detail and discretion in handling sensitive information.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
  • Aptitude in problem-solving and ability to work well under pressure
  • Excellent planning and collaborative skills

Qualifications

  • BS/BA in Business Administration/HR (or related field) or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience in HR compliance or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of multi-state labor laws
  • Working knowledge of labor laws as they relate to the workplace (OSHA, FMLA, ADA, EEOC, etc.)
  • Familiarity with LLC structures and multi-entity compliance considerations
  • Experience using Workday or other HRIS platforms is a plus.
  • HR certifications such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP is a plus.
