Job Description

PolyAPI is a powerful platform that empowers development teams to streamline their API discovery and consumption process. With PolyAPI, developers can quickly and easily discover known company-wide APIs right inside their IDEs using an AI powered discovery service, and consume them as local functions through a dynamic cross-API client library. Additionally, integration logic can be abstracted into a Lambda-like service, simplifying the development process. PolyAPI even offers the ability to teach new APIs if they are not already integrated. Companies with a plethora of APIs and consumers, or those looking to enhance their developer ecosystem, can benefit greatly from PolyAPI's comprehensive API management capabilities.

We’re looking for a Full-Stack Engineer with a strong emphasis on backend systems and integrations, skilled in building reliable services and APIs that connect with a variety of platforms. In this role, you’ll help evolve our iPaaS core, contribute to our client SDKs and language libraries, and implement custom integrations and projects for our customers.

You’ll play a key role in expanding our integration capabilities across systems such as Oracle Simphony, Toast, Adyen, and other payment or POS platforms, while contributing to the backend services and APIs that power our dynamic configuration-based frontend system.

This role also offers the opportunity to interface directly with customers, lead small technical initiatives, and mentor other engineers as we scale our team and product capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs that power our iPaaS platform.
  • Develop and extend client SDKs and language libraries to improve developer experience and integration capabilities.
  • Implement and support custom integrations for customers.
  • Collaborate with customer teams to gather requirements, design solutions, and ensure successful deployment of integrations.
  • Contribute to frontend development as needed to support platform features and developer tooling.
  • Lead small technical projects, providing guidance and mentorship to other engineers.
  • Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and ongoing process improvements to maintain high engineering standards.
  • Help define and document integration best practices, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability across implementations.

Qualifications:

  • 4–6 years of professional experience as a full-stack or backend engineer, with significant experience building and maintaining production backend systems.
  • Strong proficiency with TypeScript, Node.js, REST or GraphQL APIs, and asynchronous service architectures.
  • Familiarity with relational and non-relational databases, caching strategies, and distributed systems fundamentals.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills and comfort interfacing directly with customers or partners.

Nice-to-haves:

  • Familiarity with React.js and TypeScript for supporting frontend integration and tooling.
  • Experience integrating with payment providers, POS platforms, or similar enterprise systems (e.g., Oracle Simphony, Toast, Adyen, Square, Stripe).
  • Experience with Nest.js or Next.js frameworks.
  • Background in iPaaS, low-code/no-code systems, or AI-driven developer tools.
  • Experience with Python, Java, or scripting for integration tasks.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes and AWS infrastructure.

Salary and Benefits:

  • We're a startup so compensation is heavily focused on bonus/equity compensation.
  • Competitive salary for your location
  • Equity with 4 year vest
  • Performance bonus
  • No medical or dental at the moment. This will come when we hit Series A.

Sponsorship:

  • We're unable to sponsor for relocation to US at this time.
  • We're an international company and are willing to consider candidates wherever they live.
