Job Description


Peanut Technologies is searching for a Digital Marketing Specialist to manage and grow the social media pages of a handful of restaurants we work with (we are not looking to hire any agencies or freelancers; this is a full-time job role only).

The Digital Marketing Specialist will own the pipeline of the social media management process end-to-end, from research and content planning to publishing, engagement, and performance reporting. You will report to our Digital Marketing Manager, who will be in charge of crafting the digital and creative strategy for each brand.

Peanut Technologies (peanuttab.com) provides IT, and digital support services to restaurants and restaurant groups. Through our partnerships with technology vendors, we serve several restaurants annually.

 

Job Responsibilities  

  • Content Creation & Paid Media (35%)
  • Develop, design, & curate engaging content for posts across all social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, etc.)
  • Own all social media content calendar creation and execution.
  • Assist in planning and coordinating photo and video shoots for each restaurant.
  • Ideate and craft eye-catching and trendsetting reels that showcase each restaurant's brand
  • Work with the design team to create aesthetically pleasing visual assets that align with the brand's identity.

 

  • Community Feedback (30%)
  • Respond to all comments & DMs on all paid and organic channels
  • Work with the team of each restaurant on their overall customer sentiment.
  • Monitor discussions on each brand on social channels such as local Facebook Groups, discussion threads like Reddit, etc
  • Keep a pulse on industry trends and what the competitors and market leaders of each restaurant we work with are doing

 

  • Customer Engagement & Store Interactions (20%)
  • Work with our Digital Marketing Manager to coordinate meetings with store managers for multi-location restaurant groups to get a handle on promotions and events ongoing in the store/ district level for each restaurant.
  • Join monthly check-in calls with the management of each restaurant, along with our Digital Marketing Manager, to report on discoveries at the store level and to plan content for the following month.

 

  • Analytics & Reporting (15%)
  • Monitor and report on feedback and online reviews, utilizing metrics to gauge the success of our campaigns
  • Continuously optimize our strategies by understanding and leveraging analytics

 

Preferred Skills / Ideal Candidate  

Importance: High  

  • Access to a quiet workspace with minimal background noise
  • Great communication skills, in both speaking and writing
  • High visual IQ
  • Strong attention to detail and consistency in brand voice
  • Ability to plan and execute content independently
  • Strong understanding of modern social media best practices for restaurants
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new tools and platforms

Importance: Medium  

  • 2-3+ years of experience managing social media accounts
  • Experience growing or maintaining professional social media accounts
  • Confidence in presenting ideas and discussing performance on Zoom calls

Importance: Not super important but helpful  

  • Experience with tools such as Meta Business Suite, Buffer, Hootsuite, Later, or any social media scheduling platform
  • Experience in email marketing, graphic design, or SEO/ SEM
  • Basic experience using Canva or similar tools
  • Experience working with restaurants or hospitality brands
  • Background in marketing, communications, or digital media

 

Compensation & Hours  

Hours  

  • Working hours are 12 pm to 10 pm daily (with 2 hours of breaks), except on Nigerian public holidays
  • Occasional work on Saturdays and public holidays may be required (if necessary, you will be made aware weeks in advance)

 

Compensation  

  • Pay is competitive
  • Eligible for health insurance, gym membership, and paid time off
  • Monthly broadband internet stipend of up to NGN 20,000, plus select technology cost reimbursements upon review and approval

 

Candidates must have at least two internet connections:

  • Primary broadband or fiber network
  • Backup network (e.g, mobile data such as MTN)
  • Both networks must have a minimum download speed of 15 Mbps.

Time Off  

  • 2 weeks paid vacation annually (eligible after first 6 months)
  • 1 week off in December
