ConductScience is seeking an Entry-Level Bioinformatics Engineer for a full-time, in-person role based in Glenview, IL. This position is a unique hybrid of software engineering and laboratory operations. The engineer will design and implement workflows for neuroscience data analysis while physically managing and troubleshooting laboratory hardware. Responsibilities include analyzing complex datasets (neural time-series, sequencing), developing machine learning models, and ensuring the smooth operation of data acquisition systems. We are looking for a builder who is comfortable writing Python code one moment and troubleshooting a sensor or rig the next.
Qualifications- Entry-level candidates welcome. Bachelor's or advanced degree in Neuroscience, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Hardware & Ops: Ability to interact with laboratory hardware, including troubleshooting, calibration, and maintaining scientific equipment.
- Software & ML: Solid understanding of Python, with experience in machine learning techniques (e.g., processing time-series data, signals) and algorithm development.
- Strong skills in Statistics and Data Analysis to interpret complex datasets.
- Background in Neuroscience or Computational Biology is preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in an on-site laboratory environment.
