As a ServiceNow Technical Developer at the University of Melbourne, you'll play a pivotal role in enhancing and maintaining the institution's strategic enterprise service management platform. You'll design and develop innovative ServiceNow applications, provide platform upgrades, and collaborate with diverse teams to deliver complex solutions. This role offers you the opportunity to apply your expertise in a dynamic higher education environment, driving digital transformation and shaping the service experience for thousands of users.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Application Development: Design and develop custom ServiceNow applications, including business rules, client scripts, and workflows to meet complex business requirements.
- Platform Management: Coordinate ServiceNow upgrades, releases, and patches across production and non-production environments, ensuring system integrity and auditability.
- Continuous Improvement: Monitor platform performance, implement preventative maintenance, and Lead enhancements to meet high client satisfaction KPIs.
- Collaboration: Work closely with scrum teams and stakeholders across the university to plan, design, and implement complex ServiceNow solutions.
You may be a great fit if:
You are a certified ServiceNow Application Developer with extensive experience in large-scale implementations, possessing deep technical knowledge and a passion for driving innovation in enterprise service management.
You may also:
- Hold relevant ServiceNow certifications and have a strong background in enterprise application development.
- Demonstrate expertise in JavaScript, AngularJS, and ServiceNow-specific development tools.
- Have experience with system integration, web services, and service-oriented architecture.
- Possess strong knowledge of ITIL practices and experience in Agile and DevOps methodologies.
- Show excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to Lead multi-functional teams in resolving complex issues.

Your new team - Enterprise Technology
The Enterprise Services domain team, part of Enterprise Technology, is responsible for planning and delivering a wide range of initiatives. These include IT enablement for new campus buildings and facilities, smart campus projects IT infrastructure upgrades, and integration, identity management, and security solutions. The team also drives application and digital projects across core enterprise functions such as finance, HR, procurement, service management, space management, and other back-office capabilities.
