Okta Engineer (Contract) - Identity and Access Management

We are seeking an Okta Engineer with at least three years of hands‑on experience to support a large‑scale Identity and Access Management (IAM) implementation for complex, enterprise‑level environments. In this role, you will help design, configure, and deploy Okta solutions including SSO, MFA, lifecycle management, and application integrations while working closely with one of our Senior Okta Engineers/Architects.

This is a 3–6 month contract to start, and if all goes well, we anticipate this project turning into a multi-year engagement with one of our top clients. You'll work 100% remote from anywhere in the US (must be comfortable working East Coast hours).

Responsibilities

• Implement and configure Okta components across large, multi‑domain environments
• Support application onboarding, SSO integrations, and identity lifecycle workflows
• Assist in designing scalable IAM architectures and security controls
• Troubleshoot authentication, authorization, and provisioning issues
• Collaborate with senior engineering leadership to execute project milestones
• Document configurations, standards, and best practices
  
  

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience working with Okta in enterprise settings
• Strong understanding of IAM concepts, federation protocols (SAML, OIDC, OAuth), and directory services
• Experience with complex organizations, multi‑tenant or hybrid environments
• Ability to work collaboratively with senior engineers and cross‑functional teams
