THE ROLE

We are growing and we are now looking for a People Partner to join the team to support the implementation of our people first strategy. The successful candidate will manage the day-to-day responsibilities of HR for our India team whilst ensuring compliance with employment laws and maintaining best practice. You will also work closely with the Head of HR and Head of Talent to implement human resources strategies that support Abstract’s overall mission, vision, and business objectives. This is a remote role with UK working hours.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting management with the implementation of people strategies.
  • Implementing retention programs and initiatives to promote employee engagement, satisfaction, and long-term tenure.
  • Undertaking the administrative work associated with HR ensuring accurate HR records are maintained.
  • Overseeing the onboarding and exit of employees, ensuring a positive candidate experience.
  • Answering employee HR queries in a timely manner and communicating any changes in HR policies to employees.
  • Serving as a trusted advisor and resource to employees on HR-related matters, including performance management, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
  • Conducting investigations into employee complaints or concerns, ensuring fair and consistent resolution in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Fostering a culture of open communication, mutual respect, and inclusivity within the organisation.
  • Staying abreast of relevant employment laws, regulations, and industry trends, ensuring compliance, and mitigating legal risks.
  • Supporting line managers with performance management processes.
  • Ensuring the completion of mandatory company training by all employees.
  • Overseeing the development and delivery of effective training and development programmes.
  • Adhering to HR processes, considering areas of improvement and making any changes that may be required in preparation for scaling.

Required Skills And Experience

  • Proven HR Generalist experience with a track record of supporting senior leadership and driving strategic HR initiatives.
  • Experience working in a scale-up, creative, or mission-driven organisation.
  • Prior experience managing or collaborating with external HR consultants or legal advisors.
  • In-depth knowledge of Indian employment law and HR compliance, with experience managing risk.
  • Exposure to change management and organisational development initiatives.
  • Exposure to employee relations, including handling complex investigations, conflict resolution, and performance management.
  • Experience implementing HR policies, procedures, and training programs that align with organisational goals.
  • Familiarity with HR systems and tools for performance management, employee engagement, and reporting.
  • Experience working in or with diverse and inclusive teams, with a commitment to fostering a positive workplace culture.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organisation.
  • Experience operating in a UK headquartered organisation or working with globally dispersed teams is beneficial but not essential.
