This role offers the opportunity to lead and enhance the QA automation strategy for a high-performing iOS app used by teams worldwide. You will build and maintain a robust UI automation framework, ensuring that features are thoroughly tested and delivered with high quality. Working closely with mobile engineers, QA peers, and product teams, you will develop scalable tests, maintain continuous integration pipelines, and provide fast feedback on releases. Your work will directly impact app reliability, user experience, and operational efficiency, helping the organization maintain its high customer satisfaction ratings. This position is ideal for someone passionate about automation, iOS development, and delivering world-class mobile experiences in a collaborative, remote-first environment.
Accountabilities
- Own the iOS UI automation process, developing and maintaining a scalable test suite.
- Collaborate with iOS engineers and QA team members to design test plans and review scenarios.
- Implement new automated tests using XCUITest with Swift, ensuring adherence to best practices like page object or builder patterns.
- Execute test runs, identify failures, and perform ongoing maintenance of automated tests.
- Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools like AWS CodeBuild, CircleCI, or Jenkins.
- Utilize cloud device farms (e.g., Firebase Test Lab, AWS Device Farm, Xcode Cloud) to validate tests across devices.
- Support release quality by providing timely test results and feedback to engineering and product teams.
- 4+ years of experience as a QA Automation Engineer or SDET.
- 3+ years of experience automating iOS tests with XCUITest and Swift.
- Strong understanding of mobile UI testing best practices, design patterns, and automation frameworks.
- Experience executing tests on native mobile applications and analyzing failures.
- Proficiency with CI/CD tools and cloud device farms.
- Solid background in manual mobile testing and QA best practices.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to work effectively in a distributed team.
- Preferred: familiarity with scaling automation in high-growth, fast-paced environments and experience contributing to mobile engineering best practices.
- Competitive salary: $125,000–$150,000, plus potential bonus up to 20%
