A Brief Overview
The Sr. Payroll Tax Specialist is responsible for providing timely and accurate support of multi-state payroll tax related activities.
What You Will Do
- Partners with internal colleagues / clients / customers to resolve case creation/closure and Service Orders
- Case inquiries and follow up, email support and phone queue support
- Resolves moderate complexity, high volume tasks related to workflow, as assigned
- Communicates internally with colleagues and externally via client cases, email and telephone as primary customer support for Payroll Tax Compliance, Reporting, and W2 support
- Works proficiently in Salesforce to document customer inquiries and resolution
- Processes various data related tasks withing the Payroll Tax organization such as payments, reports, check requests, registrations, and filings.
- Escalates identified customer concerns or tax changes to leadership
- Helps support newer Specialists as a SME.
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Complies with all policies and standards
- General education, vocational training and/or on-the-job training required
- Typically, 4 or more years Payroll tax experience required
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, quality work product (Intermediate proficiency)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (Intermediate proficiency)
- Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills (Intermediate proficiency)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Intermediate proficiency)
- Proficient understanding of US payroll tax including federal, state, and local laws and regulations (Intermediate proficiency)
- Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality (Intermediate proficiency)
- High commitment to professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace (Intermediate proficiency)
- Ability to follow established procedures in a timely manner (Intermediate proficiency)
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)-APA preferred
- Fundamental Payroll Certificate preferred
