The Role

We’re hiring a Senior QA Engineer to own and elevate the quality function for our Digital Solutions engineering team. You will serve as the QA for our small Engineering team, reporting to the Manila Engineering Lead, and partnering closely with full-stack and data engineers, as well as our Product team. From test strategy and planning to automation, CI/CD gating, and release validation, you will define and execute best practices so we can ship reliably, reduce support burden, and focus our efforts on impactful new development.

The ideal candidate will be proactive, self-driven, and efficient, take full accountability for our quality processes, and have acute attention to detail. They should be comfortable working in an Agile/Scrum environment with two-week sprints and release cycles. Success hinges on excellent written and spoken English, crisp asynchronous communication, and the ability to integrate seamlessly with a distributed team. Overlap with the UK team will be required for at least two hours per day.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and own the QA strategy end-to-end for apps, APIs, and data pipelines.
• Plan and execute comprehensive manual and automated testing across environments. This includes functional, regression, integration, performance and security testing.
• Build and maintain Cucumber/Cypress automation suites, API and Data pipeline tests.
• Integrate tests into CI/CD (Atlassian Bitbucket Pipelines) and enforce release gates.
• Coach engineers on testability and quality practices.
• Define and monitor quality metrics in Cypress Cloud and drive continuous improvement.
  
  
  

Key Competencies And Requirements

The candidate will possess a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, with an excellent understanding of Computer Science fundamentals such as SDLC & STLC (software development and testing lifecycles), Algorithms, Data, Software Patterns, Testing frameworks, and APIs.

We also highlight the following key characteristics and competencies:

• 4-7 years’ proven experience in QA / Software Testing with clear ownership of automation and release quality in Agile / Scrum teams.
• Strong knowledge of the leading QA methodologies, processes, and tools (e.g. Jira, Git, Python / JavaScript).
• Experience with test automation tools covering all categories of testing from functional (preferably Cypress) to performance testing.
• Proven experience setting up CI-gated quality checks (smoke/regression/API/data) and driving evidence-based release decisions.
• Proficiency in at least one programming/scripting language (preferably JavaScript/TypeScript).
• Practical knowledge of SQL and validating data pipelines for correctness and stability.
• Familiarity with Agile development processes and continuous integration (CI).
• AI-forward with proven success in achieving process and efficiency gains through AI tools.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality products.
• A privacy- and security-conscious mindset suited to a Finance / Long-Term Investment industry context.
• Excellent English (written and spoken), effective async communication, and collaborative style that builds trust across the distributed team.
• QA Certifications are not required, but would be a plus

Work Set Up:

• Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 12:00 pm - 8:00 pm, PH Time
• Manila-based role, starting fully remote with occasional meetups
• Will shift to a hybrid setup (minimum 3 days onsite per week) once the office is established
