Role Overview

As a QA Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, correctness, and performance of the Classcard platform across web, mobile, and API layers.

Your core responsibility is to prevent regressions, validate critical business workflows, and embed quality into the product development lifecycle as the platform scales.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys breaking systems thoughtfully, improving processes, and acting as the quality gatekeeper for releases.

What You'll Do

Manual Testing & Core Workflows (Core)

• Design and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and scenarios for web, mobile, and backend APIs
• Perform hands-on manual testing of key workflows, including:
• Onboarding
• Scheduling
• Attendance
• Invoicing
• Payments
• Reporting
• Validate API behaviour, covering request/response contracts, edge cases, error handling, and data integrity
• Identify, log, and track defects with clear reproduction steps, expected vs actual behaviour, and severity

Release Validation & Regression

• Review new features and bug fixes before release to prevent regressions
• Execute regression testing for every release cycle across tenants and configurations
• Verify fixes in staging and production environments
• Provide QA sign-off on release readiness

Collaboration & Process

• Work closely with developers and product managers to clarify requirements and ensure test coverage aligns with acceptance criteria
• Participate early in feature discussions to identify testing risks and gaps
• Maintain clear QA documentation, including test cases, test data, and release checklists

Automation, Performance & Scale (Nice to Have)

• Develop or maintain automated tests (API and/or UI) to improve regression coverage
• Execute performance and load testing for high-traffic workflows
• Test multi-tenant edge cases, including data isolation, role-based access, and institution-specific configurations
• Support mobile app testing across iOS and Android platforms
• Assist with validating production issues and hotfixes when required

What We're Looking For

• 1–5 years of experience in manual or hybrid QA roles
• Strong understanding of web applications, APIs, and backend systems
• Experience testing complex workflows rather than just UI flows
• Attention to detail and strong bug-reporting discipline
• Ability to collaborate closely with engineering and product teams
• Comfort working in a fast-moving startup environment

Nice to Have

• Experience in B2B SaaS or multi-tenant platforms
• Exposure to test automation frameworks
• Experience with performance or load testing tools
• Prior experience testing mobile applications
