Role Overview

We are looking for a Freelance AI Engineer to support a Berlin-based software company on a client project. The role focuses on building, integrating, and operating AI-enabled services and data-driven components in cloud environments, with a strong emphasis on infrastructure automation using AWS CloudFormation.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop AI-enabled application components and services
• Build and manage cloud infrastructure using AWS CloudFormation
• Integrate data-driven services into scalable, cloud-native applications
• Develop and maintain data processing and service pipelines
• Ensure reliability, performance, and cost efficiency of cloud-based services
• Implement CI/CD pipelines for application and service deployments
• Apply security, compliance, and best practices across cloud environments
• Collaborate closely with product, data, and engineering teams

Requirements

• Experience as an AI Engineer or Software Engineer working on AI-enabled systems
• Strong hands-on expertise with AWS and AWS CloudFormation
• Proficiency in Python or similar backend languages
• Experience deploying and operating cloud-native services
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and operational tooling
• Strong communication skills and structured working style
• Fluent English (German is a plus)
