Job Description
Power BI Developer โ Multi-Cloud FinOps
Global FinOps ISV | Fully Remote (UK, Europe)
Permanent only
Our client is a global, hyper-growth Independent Software Vendor (ISV) operating at the forefront of FinOps and cloud cost intelligence. Their platform helps enterprise organisations gain visibility, control and optimisation across multi-cloud environments, including Azure, AWS and GCP.
As part of continued international growth, they are looking to hire a Power BI Developer โ Multi-Cloud FinOps to play a critical role in the evolution of their analytics capability.
This is a product-focused role, not a consulting or internal BI position.
The role
The successful candidate will sit at the intersection of cloud cost data, FinOps, and advanced Power BI engineering.
You will be responsible for building high-quality, performance-optimised Power BI models and dashboards that are embedded into a commercial SaaS platform and used by enterprise customers to make financial decisions about cloud spend.
This role requires someone who is comfortable working with large, complex billing and usage datasets, understands how cloud costs really work, and can translate that complexity into clear, trusted insight.
Key responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain advanced Power BI datasets, models and dashboards
- Work with multi-cloud cost and usage data across Azure, AWS and GCP
- Develop and optimise complex DAX and M Query for accuracy and performance
- Ensure Power BI models scale efficiently across large datasets
- Support Power BI Embedded and Microsoft Fabric implementations within the product
- Enable cost allocation, chargeback and showback use cases
- Support multi-cloud cost normalisation and comparison
- Work closely with product, engineering and FinOps specialists to deliver customer-driven analytics features
- Ensure all reporting stands up to finance-level scrutiny
Required experience
Power BI expertise
- Advanced Power BI development experience (semantic models, datasets, dashboards)
- Strong DAX and M Query / Power Query skills
- Experience optimising Power BI performance at scale
- Experience with Power BI Embedded and Microsoft Fabric
Cloud & FinOps
- Strong understanding of Azure services and Azure billing structures
- Working knowledge of AWS cost data (CUR) and/or GCP / OCI billing
- Practical understanding of FinOps principles and cloud cost allocation
- Familiarity with FOCUS (FinOps Cost & Usage Specification) is preferred
Domain knowledge
- Cloud financial management and cost optimisation
- Reserved Instances, Savings Plans and commitment-based discounts
- Chargeback and showback reporting
- Multi-cloud cost normalisation and comparison
Who this role suits
- Power BI Developers who work with cloud cost or FinOps data
- BI Engineers who enjoy complex, high-volume datasets
- Candidates who want to build product-grade analytics, not one-off reports
- Individuals comfortable working in a fast-moving SaaS environment
Who this role is not suited for
- Junior or entry-level Power BI developers
- Finance analysts without strong BI engineering depth
- Generalist data analysts without cloud or billing exposure
Location
This role is fully remote, with candidates required to ideally be based in the UK or Europe.
