Role Description
This is a remote role for a Robotics Engineer. The individual will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining innovative authorization solutions for robotics appliances. Tasks include collaborating with cross-functional teams, creating prototypes and libraries, while ensuring high-performance, responsive interfaces. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects aligned with digital inclusion and cybersecurity goals.
Qualifications
- Deep expertise in ROS 2 architecture - proven experience with DDS middleware, node lifecycle management, and ROS 2 security features
- Strong background in robotics safety systems - familiarity with ISO 13849, IEC 62443, and functional safety concepts including Control Barrier Functions (CBFs)
- Authorization and identity management experience - understanding of OAuth 2.0, token-based authentication, and cryptographic protocols; ability to design and implement novel authorization frameworks
- Hardware security knowledge - experience with HSMs, secure boot chains, TPMs, or embedded security processors for safety-critical applications
- AI/ML integration skills - ability to work with LLM-based systems for policy interpretation and compliance monitoring (G-Agent concepts)
- Standards and regulatory awareness - understanding of EU AI Act, FDA robotics guidance, and automotive safety standards (ISO 26262, SOTIF)
- Technical specification writing - ability to author clear, implementable RFC-style specifications that can guide development teams
- Cross-functional leadership - experience coordinating between hardware, software, legal/IP, and business stakeholders
- Ecosystem building mindset - track record of engaging with open-source communities, industry consortia (OMG, IEEE), or standards bodies
- Entrepreneurial drive - passion for bringing a novel technology from specification to commercial deployment; comfortable with ambiguity and iterative development
