Compensation: $120K–$200K base + meaningful equity (0.05%–0.3%)

Infilla is on a mission to make more housing happen faster.
The U.S. is short millions of homes, and one of the biggest bottlenecks is outdated, slow government permitting systems. Infilla is fixing the slowest part of construction by building modern, AI-native software that helps governments process permits faster and more efficiently.
We are an early-stage, venture-backed startup with $5M+ raised from top-tier investors and more customer demand than we can currently support. Our team is small, senior, and fast-moving, with backgrounds from companies like Dropbox, Discord, and prior founder-led startups.
The Role
We’re hiring a Founding Engineer to help build Infilla’s core product from the ground up. You will be one of the earliest engineers on the team (employee #3–5), owning large parts of the system end-to-end and helping shape both the product and engineering culture.
This role is hybrid for San Francisco Bay Area candidates and fully remote for candidates based outside the Bay Area.
This is a hands-on, high-ownership role for someone who enjoys moving quickly, working across the stack, and solving real-world problems with direct user impact.
What You’ll Do
- Build and ship full-stack product features end-to-end
- Collaborate closely with the founder and early engineers on product direction
- Design and implement scalable systems in a greenfield codebase
- Use AI tools and agentic workflows as part of your daily development process
- Work directly with users and stakeholders to refine workflows and UX
- Help establish engineering best practices in an early-stage environment
Tech Stack
We build with modern, AI-native tooling, including:
React, Radix Themes, Remix, Node.js, Prisma ORM, Postgres, TypeScript, AWS, CDK, AI tooling, agentic architecture, and concurrent programming patterns
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of professional full-stack product engineering experience
- Strong proficiency with React, Node.js, and TypeScript
- Product-minded engineer who cares deeply about user experience
- Experience shipping quickly in early-stage or fast-moving environments
- Comfort owning ambiguous problems end-to-end
- Clear communicator with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Humble, kind, and collaborative team player
Nice to Have
- Founder or early-stage startup experience (Seed–Series C)
- Experience in govtech, proptech, healthtech, or other mission-driven startups
- Direct experience interfacing with customers or end users
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows
