Our small but passionate team creates a web-based educational achievement SaaS platform used by K-12 educators across the U.S. It’s a true time-saver for teachers, and they genuinely love using it.
For more than 20 years, our Chicago-based EdTech company has partnered with educators to deliver reliable, innovative tools backed by outstanding support. With several new projects on our development roadmap, we’re looking for a full-time, 100% remote Full Stack Developer to join our close-knit team of developers and former educators.
The Role
In this role, you’ll have real ownership and influence. You’ll work on meaningful features from concept to launch, collaborate closely with teammates who understand both technology and the classroom, and ship software that makes a visible difference every day. If you enjoy building clean, impactful solutions and want your work to reach thousands of educators, this is the place to do it.
What You’ll Do
- Design, build, and maintain web-based features across the full stack
- Collaborate directly with developers and former educators to solve real classroom problems
- Build and consume APIs and work with relational databases
- Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices
Requirements
Must Have
- 3+ years of professional software development experience
- Experience with at least one backend language (Java, PHP, C#, Go, etc.)
- Strong experience with TypeScript/JavaScript
- UI and design experience (HTML, CSS, Tailwind, etc.)
- Strong experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases
- Experience building and consuming APIs
- Familiarity with AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, etc.)
- Solid grasp of software engineering fundamentals (Git, code reviews, testing)
- Availability M thru F 8:00 AM Central Standard Time (CST), Chicago, IL
Nice to Have
- Experience with AI/ML integration, LLMs, or generative AI APIs
- Experience with React Router, server-side rendering, or modern React frameworks
- Background in EdTech or assessment/testing platforms
- Experience with Docker and CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
Location
This is a fully remote, full-time position with a Chicago, Illinois–based EdTech company.
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive salary: $100,000–$140,000, commensurate with experience
