Position Overview

The DevOps Engineer will support the stability, scalability, and efficiency of the company’s web services and infrastructure. This role focuses on improving development workflows, enhancing observability, and supporting cross-functional engineering initiatives while working in a fully remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support backend systems and infrastructure for scalable web services
• Improve development efficiency through CI/CD implementation, test automation, and tooling
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders from an engineering perspective
• Provide technical support through helpdesk or support engineering activities when required
• Enhance system observability and operational reliability
• Contribute to infrastructure planning and operational improvements

Requirements

Must-Have Experience

• Backend development experience for web services
• One or more of the following:
• Over 1 year of experience using statically typed languages such as Java, Go, or TypeScript
• Over 3 years of experience using dynamically typed languages such as PHP, Ruby, or Python
• Over 1 year of experience in at least one of the following:
• Planning and promoting development cycle efficiency, including CI/CD or test automation
• Engineering-side coordination and negotiation with internal or external stakeholders
• Helpdesk, technical support, or support engineering experience

Skills

• Japanese language proficiency

Knowledge

• Basic Information Technology Engineer qualification or equivalent technical knowledge
• Understanding of project management fundamentals
• Knowledge of observability concepts and tools

Nice-to-Have

• Experience leading or mentoring engineering teams
• Experience building and operating Kubernetes-based infrastructure (EKS, GKE, AKS)
• Experience working in Agile or Scrum development environments
• Experience developing or integrating generative AI solutions
• Experience launching services through personal or independent development projects
• Experience addressing complex technical challenges and resolving large-scale technical debt
• Experience operating high-traffic, high-load systems
