Job Description
We have a 12 month contract to hire for a Senior Systems Engineer with 4โ6 years of hands-on experience in OpenShift administration and engineering, Ansible automation, and RHEL systems engineering. They should excel at designing, implementing, and supporting OpenShift and RHEL platforms across both on-premises and cloud environments while ensuring reliability, performance, and security. This individual will lead automation initiatives using Ansible, including infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and operational workflows, as well as support UPI-based OpenShift deployments and GitOps pipelines integrated with enterprise tools like Satellite, ServiceNow, and GitLab. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical and project management skills, work well independently in a fast-paced, collaborative DevOps environment, and bring a proven track record of driving platform stability, scalability, and modernization initiatives. A healthcare background is a plus but not required. 100% Remote.

About the Role:
- The LASR team is responsible for engineering and supporting the Linux, Ansible, Satellite, and Red Hat OpenShift platforms.
- The team ensures platform stability, scalability, and automation across on-premises and cloud environments, enabling infrastructure-as-code and modern DevOps practices.
- The work environment is collaborative and fast-paced, with a strong culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and cross-functional alignment.
- Key projects include re-platforming AAP onto OpenShift, automating UPI-based OpenShift deployments, expanding Ansible automation, and modernizing RHEL infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- This role involves daily monitoring and maintenance of OpenShift and RHEL platforms, responding to incidents, developing Ansible automation, and collaborating on engineering tasks and platform improvements
- Current projects include re-platforming AAP onto OpenShift, expanding GitOps and automation coverage, and integrating with tools like Satellite and ServiceNow.
- Performance is measured by system reliability, automation success rates, incident response times, and delivery of project milestones.
- The role is unique in its blend of platform engineering and automation, directly supporting internal infrastructure modernization and DevOps transformation.
