A4Assist is hiring on behalf of Unsiloed AI, a well-funded, early-stage AI startup, for a Founding Backend Engineer based in India (Remote).

Unsiloed AI is building cutting-edge AI systems in document intelligence and vision-language models (VLMs) and is already working with enterprise clients, including a Fortune 150 bank. Backed by $7.5M in seed funding (not yet publicly announced), the founding team brings experience from MIT, hedge funds, Google, and Adobe.

This is a high-ownership role where your technical decisions will directly shape the company’s engineering foundation.

🔧 What You’ll Do

As a Backend Engineer, you’ll own systems end-to-end — from architecture to production:

• Architect, build, and scale core backend systems for AI-driven workflows
• Design and operate high-throughput, low-latency production services
• Own infrastructure: deployments, monitoring, reliability, and performance
• Take systems from R&D → production → enterprise scale
• Build and maintain cloud and on-prem deployments (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm)
• Establish best practices for CI/CD, observability, debugging, and incident response
• Collaborate closely with founders and researchers to productionize AI models

🧠 What We’re Looking For

This role is backend + infrastructure heavy. Ideal candidates will have:

• 2+ years of experience building and operating scaled production systems
• Strong backend expertise (Python required; C++ or Rust is a big plus)
• Experience with distributed systems (microservices, queues, caching, Redis, etc.)
• Deep familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and IaC (Terraform / Pulumi)
• Strong ownership mindset and ability to work autonomously

Nice to have:

• Experience serving ML / VLM / GPU-heavy workloads

• Location: India (Fully Remote)
• Employment Type: Full-time
• Experience: 2–8 years
• Salary: $5,000 – $10,000 USD per month
• Time Zone: Some overlap with PST (11 PM – 11 AM IST)
• Visa Sponsorship: Not available
