Senior Power BI Developer and Reporting Architect

ProPharma are looking for an experienced and independent Power BI professional to lead the redevelopment of our reporting architecture and analytics environment. This is a remote role and the professional can be based out of Bosnia & Herzegovina, Serbia, Croatia or North Macedonia.

This role requires a deep technical expertise, ownership mentality, and strong business communication skills. You'll work across departments to deliver scalable, secure, and actionable reporting solutions that directly support strategic decision-making.

Essential Functions:

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of Power BI reporting architecture.
• Redesign and modernize financial and operational dashboards to support budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking.
• Leverage the newly built data mart to create efficient, scalable data models.
• Partner with FP&A and business leaders to define key KPIs and deliver reporting that drives strategic insight.
• Ensure data accuracy and integrity through consistent validation and reconciliation practices.
• Gather and translate business requirements into clear, actionable visualizations.
• Collaborate across IT, Finance, and Operations to deliver tailored reporting solutions.
• Define and implement best practices for semantic models, DAX, and data flows.
• Set up and maintain Power BI security roles, RLS, and governance frameworks.
• Troubleshoot and optimize Power BI reports and data sources.
• Document Power BI development standards, templates, and processes.
• Provide training and support to end users and stakeholders.
• Mentor and coach junior team members as needed.

Key Requirements and Skills:

• 5+ years of experience in Power BI development, including end-to-end implementation and reporting architecture design.
• Proven track record of delivering projects from scratch in complex, multi-department organizations.
• Strong understanding of Power BI architecture: Power BI Service, Desktop, Gateway, and Report Server.
• Expert-level skills in DAX, Power Query (M), and data modeling (star/snowflake schemas).
• Solid experience with SQL, data warehouses, and ETL processes.
• Strong grasp of data governance, access control, and row-level security.
• Experience working with or integrating data from Workday is a plus.
