Backend Engineer (Web3)

Core Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement secure and efficient smart contracts for the organization's oracles (and beyond), driving for innovation as part of this.
• Contribute on the back-end across our data & calculation pipelines, APIs, etc.
• Collaborate closely with the team to get full understanding of requirements, align on conventions, shape architecture, and get/offer feedback on written code
• Take ownership of the entire software development process, from inception to deployment and maintenance
• Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices

Required Skills

• Strong experience in smart contract development (Solidity), ideally in decentralised finance (Ethereum DeFi) applications.
• 3+ years of professional engineering experience
• Fluency in blockchain / web3 technologies and protocols.
• Proficiency in a systems programming language such as Python/C/C++/Java/Rust/Go
• Proven ability to work independently, take project ownership, and drive initiatives to completion.
• Strong problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
• Ability to manage your time and tasks within a highly distributed development team without supervision.
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science / Engineering / related field, or equivalent level of technical knowledge (if self-taught, bootcamp, etc)

Desirable Skills

• Experience auditing smart contracts or collaborating with smart contract
• auditing firms.
• Active participation in the blockchain ecosystem as a user
