This role supports approximately 50–55 end users and requires a true “switch hitter” who can lead Microsoft Intune/MDM, administer Microsoft 365, Azure, and Entra ID, provide Tier 2/3 end-user support, and contribute to security initiatives including EDR/MDR, MFA, and Conditional Access, while also supporting light DevOps and automation work in Azure. The ideal candidate is comfortable wearing multiple hats in a small-business environment, has strong troubleshooting skills across systems, cloud, and networking, and can operate independently while driving IT improvements in a fully remote setting aligned to EST business hours.
Responsibilities:
- Own and lead the Microsoft Intune / MDM environment, including device deployment, configuration, compliance, and ongoing optimization
- Administer Microsoft 365, Azure, and Entra ID, managing identity, access, MFA, and Conditional Access policies
- Provide Tier 2/3 end-user support across a fully remote environment, troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues
- Manage endpoint security using EDR/MDR tools such as Huntress and Microsoft Defender, ensuring devices and users remain secure
- Troubleshoot and support core infrastructure and networking, including DNS, VPNs, and system-level issues
- Support DevOps automation and CI/CD workflows using Azure tooling and PowerShell to improve operational efficiency
- Collaborate with leadership and vendors (MSP/MSSP during transition) to improve IT architecture, security posture, documentation, and operational processes while helping move services fully in-house
Apply today if your background includes:
- 5–8 years of hands-on IT experience in a generalist, systems, or user-support-heavy environment
- Recent, hands-on ownership of Microsoft Intune / MDM, including device deployment, compliance, and configuration
- Strong Microsoft ecosystem experience across Microsoft 365, Azure, and Entra ID (Azure AD)
- Tier 2/3 end-user support experience with strong troubleshooting across hardware, software, and networking
- Security fundamentals experience, including EDR/MDR tools (Huntress, Defender), MFA, and Conditional Access
- Exposure to DevOps automation or CI/CD workflows in Azure, with a willingness to support tooling and process improvements
