Job Description

My client is one of the world’s top-tier quantitative hedge funds and they are hiring a Data Scientist to join a team that supports their different quantitative research efforts.

If you are interested in a Data Science role at a respected firm with great work-life balance, then this is the role for you.

What's the Job?

The Data Scientist on this team will be used to support different Quantitative Research teams (Equities, Event-Driven, Options, etc…) depending on their current needs. This means you will be exposed to many different aspects of their high-frequency and quantitative trading operations. This is part of a small, nimble team that works together to tackle challenging problems.

You will be using your knowledge of the latest AI/LLM research and techniques and applying this to your modeling work. Your time will be spent scoping out projects, doing advanced research, building models and communicating with stakeholders.

This is a great opportunity to be involved in different parts of the business and expand your knowledge of different asset classes.

Compensation

• $400,000 - $600,000 Total Compensation

• Fully covered Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance.

• Tuition and Student Loan reimbursement.

• Excellent 401(k) matching program.

• Relocation is fully covered.

Qualifications

• PhD or Masters in Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or other related field.

• 2+ years of experience in applied data analysis and prediction, preferably in the finance industry setting but it is okay if you are outside of finance (Technology, e.g.).

• Excellent Python and SQL skills used for in-depth research and examining real-world data.

• Ability to work with internal stakeholders to rigorously explore and test your data science theories.

Location

This is a partially remote position here in New York City. You must be able to work in the New York City office 5 days per month.

Who Are They?

My client has over $50B AUM and is one of the most sought-after quantitative finance firms in the world to work for. They offer many opportunities for growth, learning and career advancement. They are also well-known for their tech-first culture, stability and consistent performance in the industry.
