Role Overview

We are seeking several senior-level Full-Stack AI Engineers with strong research depth to help us rapidly advance new capabilities and stay ahead of the broader AI ecosystem. This role intentionally combines hands-on engineering with original research, experimentation, and applied theory.

You will work across the full stack, from core AI and machine learning systems to production infrastructure, while contributing to exploratory research that informs long-term product direction. This is not a narrowly scoped engineering role. We are looking for builders who can think deeply, prototype quickly, and translate research into real systems.

Key Responsibilities

● Design, build, and maintain full-stack AI systems from research prototypes through production deployment

● Conduct deep technical research in areas such as advanced AI systems, agent architectures, model behavior, verification, provenance, or related domains

● Translate research findings into scalable, real-world features and platform capabilities

● Collaborate closely with senior technical leadership to shape KRNL’s research and product roadmap

● Own complex technical problems end to end, from problem framing through implementation and validation

● Contribute to internal technical documentation, research artifacts, and long-term architectural decisions

● Maintain a strong focus on performance, security, and system reliability at scale

Required Qualifications

● PhD or equivalent research experience in computer science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or a closely related field

● Minimum of 3 years of professional experience building AI-driven systems in production environments

● Strong full-stack engineering experience, including backend systems, APIs, data pipelines, and modern infrastructure

● Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research and apply it pragmatically

● Deep understanding of modern AI and machine learning techniques, including model training, evaluation, and deployment

● Excellent problem-solving skills and comfort working in ambiguous, fast-moving environments

● Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

Preferred Qualifications

● Experience working at the intersection of research and product development

● Background in advanced AI topics such as agent systems, distributed AI, model governance, or system verification

● Prior experience in high-growth startups or research-driven organizations

● Publications, patents, or open research contributions are a strong plus

Location

Candidates must be currently based in the Middle East, the Indian sub-continent, or South and Southeast Asia. This role requires relocation to Bangkok or Hanoi within an agreed timeframe. KRNL will work with selected candidates to support a smooth transition.
