About The Role

The Designer II is a key member of our Design and Construction team, responsible for developing and reviewing site plans, floor plans, and building elevations that align with the company's operational and brand standards. This role collaborates closely with outside consultants, architects, and internal stakeholders to ensure the accurate and timely execution of building designs that meet our quality and brand consistency requirements. The Designer II will assist in managing design documentation, facilitating communication between various departments, and supporting store openings through effective design implementation. This position requires a proactive approach, strong technical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment to support Dutch Bros Coffee’s expansion and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Design, or related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in designing QSR, restaurant, retail, or hospitality environments.
• Strong understanding of construction materials, durability considerations, cost implications, and maintenance advantages.
• Proficiency in design software such as SketchUp, Photoshop, InDesign, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with Revit or CAD software, Bluebeam, with proficiency in at least one.
• Ability to drive when necessary, with a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  
  

Responsibilities

• Review plans submitted by architects, franchisees, and developers, ensuring compliance with brand standards, local codes, and project timelines.
• Track and monitor submittal and approval deadlines, maintaining organized records of all project documentation.
• Assist in disseminating design information and updates to internal teams and external partners, serving as a roadmap for development activities.
• Collaborate on the production and release of prototype plans, facilitating updates based on operational feedback and corporate standards.
• Ensure all proprietary designs and intellectual property are accurately controlled, up-to-date, and used appropriately across projects.
• Participate in meetings, symposiums, and discussions to stay current on industry trends, design techniques, and regulatory changes.
• Provide field support as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and assist in construction management efforts when required.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation related to architectural designs, construction conditions, and project progress.
• Build and nurture relationships with architects, vendors, suppliers, government officials, and community stakeholders to facilitate smooth project execution.
• Coordinate with external consultants to review exterior designs, site plans, and operational test fits, ensuring brand consistency and regulatory compliance.
• Support store openings by collaborating with operations, construction, and pre-opening teams to ensure timely and successful launches.
• Engage with professional industry organizations to stay current with latest design trends and best practices.
