Job Description
Senior UX/UI Designer (Web Design) - Fully Remote
(Must be based in the UK)
About the role
My client is an award-winning digital experience and technology partner, specialising in the research, design, build and support of business-critical websites for organisations across the public and private sectors.
Their work spans accessible, content-rich CMS platforms through to complex, large-scale e-commerce solutions, delivering digital experiences where usability and performance are central to business success.
The opportunity
We’re seeking a Senior UX/UI Designer to join a growing design team and take ownership of end-to-end website experience design. You’ll play a key role in estimating and shaping projects, leading discovery phases, conducting user research, defining information architecture and delivering high-quality, accessible, responsive designs that are ready for development.
Working closely with clients and delivery teams, you’ll ensure solutions are user-centred, conversion-focused and technically sound. This is a hands-on senior role, ideal for someone with strong UX foundations, a refined visual design approach and the confidence to lead projects independently.
Note: this position focuses on content-heavy web estates (CMS and e-commerce) and web applications. Experience primarily in native apps, dashboards or SaaS products is unlikely to be a good match.
What you’ll be doing
- Lead discovery phases, including stakeholder workshops, user interviews and usability testing
- Translate insights and best practice into information architecture, sitemaps, user journeys, wireframes and prototypes
- Produce responsive, accessible, high-fidelity designs in Figma, including design systems and interaction patterns
- Collaborate closely with developers to ensure designs are practical, scalable and aligned with CMS and commerce platforms
- Present work to clients, guide decision-making and build strong, trusted stakeholder relationships
- Champion accessibility, designing to WCAG 2.2 AA standards
- Work collaboratively across disciplines with internal teams and client partners
What we’re looking for
- Proven agency experience delivering large-scale, business-critical websites and applications
- Strong client-facing capability, including leading projects, facilitating workshops and clearly articulating design decisions
- Ability to move comfortably between strategic thinking and detailed execution, with a passion for modern, engaging web experiences
- Excellent UX skills across discovery, research, information architecture, wireframing, prototyping and usability testing
- High-quality UI craft, including typography, layout, colour, imagery, brand translation, design systems and appropriate use of motion
- Expertise in content design, shaping how content is structured, written and presented to improve clarity, engagement and conversion
- Confidence writing effective microcopy that supports user needs and business goals
- Advanced Figma skills and a strong understanding of how designs translate into code
- Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA and accessible design principles
- Experience designing for enterprise DXP and CMS platforms
- Comfortable working at pace across multiple projects in an agency environment
- Curiosity and openness to using emerging AI tools to support the UX design process
Ideally:
- You will have digital agency or a strong E-commerce background
- Strong experience across web
You must be based in the UK and can be based anywhere in the UK and can work fully remote.
