Job Description
As a Lead UX/UI Designer, you will oversee the user experience, interface quality, and visual communication across a large-scale AAA open-world production. Working closely with Design, Art, Tech, and Production leadership, you will ensure the game’s UI, visual identity, and overall player experience are intuitive, accessible, and aligned with the project’s creative vision.
You will structure the UX/UI pipeline, define best practices, and lead a team of designers in delivering polished, high-quality features that meet gameplay, technical, visual, and certification requirements.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and coordinate the UX/UI team, ensuring clarity in roles, expectations, and day-to-day support.
- Define and maintain the UX/UI production pipeline, including workflows related to localization, certification (certs), and implementation.
- Establish Sprint-by-Sprint priorities for the UI team in collaboration with producers and directors.
- Review and validate all UX/UI deliverables, ensuring consistency, readability, visual polish, and proper integration into the engine.
- Create and maintain UX guidelines, UI style guides, visual identity documentation, and best-practice references for cross-disciplinary teams.
- Oversee visual communication aspects such as graphic design, motion design, and typography across UI features.
- Participate in Sprint Planning and coordinate UX/UI needs and dependencies across Design, Art, Engineering, and Localization.
- Write and follow up on Conditions of Satisfaction (CoS) for UX/UI tasks and ensure backlog alignment.
- Act as a key UX/UI point of reference for internal teams and partner studios, and serve as a secondary PoC for client-side stakeholders.
- Ensure UI assets and flows are compatible with localization constraints and platform certification requirements.
- Prepare and deliver clear UX/UI reports, documentation, and presentations for Directors, Producers, and external partners.
- Support the improvement of UX/UI tools, workflows, and visual communication practices across the project.
- 7+ years of experience in the game industry as a UX or UI Designer.
- At least one shipped AAA title as UI or UX Designer.
- Previous team leadership or management experience.
- Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and Office Suite.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; English required.
- Strong attention to user needs and team well-being.
- Ability to anticipate UX/UI requirements based on planned features and gameplay constraints.
- Keen eye for detail, readability, and visual aesthetics.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Self-driven, organized, and autonomous.
- Broad creative culture (games, film, art, design, technology, etc.).
- Proactive awareness of emerging tools, trends, and visual communication practices.
