Role Description

Biologit is seeking a Part-Time HR Manager (Short-Term Contract) to support our team during a period of growth and operational scaling. This is a part-time remote role in Ireland for an experienced HR generalist who can manage core HR operations, strengthen people processes, and provide practical support to leaders and employees.

The HR Manager will ensure that day-to-day HR activities are efficient, consistent, and compliant, while helping build scalable foundations across onboarding, documentation, performance processes, and employee relations.

Contract: [3–6 months]

Hours: Part-time, approx. [15–25] hours/week (flexible)

Location: Remote (Ireland only)

Key Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day HR operations: employee lifecycle administration, HR documentation, and maintaining accurate employee records.
  • Support recruitment delivery: role scoping support, job adverts, interview coordination, offer process, and onboarding plans.
  • Lead onboarding/offboarding processes to ensure a consistent, high-quality employee experience and strong documentation controls.
  • Maintain and improve HR policies, templates and internal guidance (e.g., contracts, handbooks, letters, SOPs).
  • Support performance processes (probation reviews, goal-setting/check-ins) and coach managers on practical people topics.
  • Provide HR support on employee relations matters, ensuring issues are handled professionally, consistently and confidentially.
  • Support compliance and best practice across areas such as data privacy (GDPR), record retention, right-to-work checks and employment fundamentals (as applicable).
  • Coordinate training logistics and maintain records (where relevant), partnering with internal stakeholders as needed.
  • Provide HR reporting and basic metrics (e.g., headcount, hiring pipeline, onboarding status, attrition themes) to leadership.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and implement lightweight, scalable HR processes appropriate for a growing company.

Competencies

  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-moving environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and communicate clearly at all levels.
  • Sound judgement and discretion when handling sensitive or confidential matters.
  • Practical, action-oriented approach; comfortable operating independently and delivering outcomes quickly.
  • Strong written communication skills; able to produce clear, professional HR documentation.
  • Comfortable using modern tools and systems (Confluence, document management, MS Office/Google Workspace).

Requirements

  • Proven experience in an HR Manager / HR Generalist role (experience in a scaling SME/start-up is a plus).
  • Solid working knowledge of HR best practices and employment fundamentals in Ireland (and ideally experience supporting distributed teams).
  • Experience supporting recruitment and onboarding processes end-to-end.
  • Ability to work part-time with reliable availability and responsiveness.
  • HR qualification (CIPD/SHRM or equivalent) is desirable.

What We Offer

  • Flexible, part-time contract with remote working.
  • Opportunity to shape and strengthen HR foundations in a growing, mission-driven company.
  • Collaborative team environment with autonomy and ownership.
