Role Overview
Cybersecurity Engineers in this talent pool may work on protecting systems, applications, and data by identifying vulnerabilities, assessing risks, and implementing security controls across diverse environments.
Typical Responsibilities (Project-dependent):
- Identify, assess, and mitigate cybersecurity risks across systems and applications.
- Perform penetration testing on applications, networks, and infrastructure.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and support remediation efforts.
- Monitor and respond to security incidents and alerts.
- Implement and maintain security policies, controls, and best practices.
- Document findings, risks, and remediation recommendations.
- Collaborate with IT, DevOps, and engineering teams to improve security posture.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and threat models.
- Hands-on experience with penetration testing methodologies and tools.
- Application, network, and infrastructure security.
- Vulnerability management and risk assessment.
- Security monitoring and incident response tools.
- Cloud security fundamentals (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Experience with scripting and programming languages such as Bash, Javascript, Python, Go (Goland) and configuration languages such as YAML.
- Experience performing web application and/or network penetration tests.
- Familiarity with common vulnerabilities (OWASP Top 10).
- Experience using tools such as Metasploit, Burp Suite, Nmap, Nessus, or similar.
- Ability to produce clear technical reports and remediation guidance.
- Experience in Cybersecurity or Information Security roles, including penetration testing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work remotely with distributed teams.
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Security certifications (CEH, OSCP, Security+, CISSP).
- Experience with red team, blue team, or purple team activities.
- Familiarity with OWASP, NIST, or ISO 27001 frameworks.
