Job Title: Head of IT, Cybersecurity, Application Support, and FinOps
Department: Engineering / Technology Operations

Position Summary
Your role will be to oversee Information Technology (IT), Cybersecurity, FinOps, and Application Support functions. This multi-disciplinary role is critical to enabling operational excellence, scalability, security, and financial efficiency across a global technology estate. The successful candidate will combine strategic vision with technical expertise and operational discipline.
Key Responsibilities
Security & Compliance
- Own the organisation-wide security posture, including application, cloud, endpoint, and network security, as well as vulnerability management.
- Establish and maintain governance frameworks for data protection, identity and access management, threat detection, and incident response.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory and security frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, etc.), and lead security audits and assessments.
- Promote a security-first culture through awareness programmes and proactive engagement across the organisation.
Internal IT Operations
- Oversee corporate IT operations, including:
- Endpoint management
- SaaS provisioning
- Identity management
- Patching and updates
- IT vendor management
- Licensing and asset lifecycle management
- Business continuity and disaster recovery capabilities
- Office infrastructure (VPNs, switches, routers, etc.)
- Helpdesk and end-user support
- Ensure secure, reliable, and efficient IT service delivery for a hybrid and distributed workforce.
- Manage hardware and software procurement, lifecycle management, and business continuity planning.
Application Support
- Lead a global application support function for both internal and customer-facing systems.
- Define and implement service reliability metrics (SLAs/OLAs), driving root cause analysis and proactive support practices.
- Work closely with engineering and product teams to ensure smooth application releases, incident escalation, and issue resolution.
FinOps
- Define and lead a FinOps strategy to monitor, forecast, and control cloud and SaaS expenditure across teams.
- Partner with finance and engineering stakeholders to establish budgets, allocate costs, and improve overall cost efficiency.
- Implement cost visibility dashboards and accountability frameworks.
- Ensure consistent tagging, budgeting, and anomaly detection across cloud environments.
Leadership & Strategy
- Build, mentor, and lead high-performing teams across IT, Security, Application Support, and FinOps.
- Define, track, and report on KPIs and operational SLAs related to service quality, compliance, and financial performance.
- Act as a key stakeholder in technology strategy, enterprise transformation initiatives, and M&A due diligence.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Finance, Legal, HR, and executive leadership to align technology operations with business objectives.
Qualifications
- 10+ years’ experience in IT, Security, or Enterprise Technology Operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Demonstrated success managing cloud-based IT environments and enterprise SaaS platforms.
- Strong knowledge of security frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST), identity and access management, and endpoint management.
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working in high-growth SaaS organisations or globally distributed environments.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, ITIL, AWS/GCP Architect, or FinOps Certified Practitioner.
- Familiarity with tools and platforms such as SentinelOne, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, Okta, Jamf, Google Workspace, Jira, ServiceNow, Zendesk, and other enterprise systems.
