Summary:
We are currently looking for a Lead Mechanical Engineer to work with a Leading US Turnkey Energy Solutions Company specializing in innovative service and equipment solutions for the energy industry worldwide. They have designed, built, and deployed numerous projects working collaboratively with EPC’s. Due to the exponential growth they have experienced, and with an ever-increasing pipeline of orders, they’ve decided to build their own integrated EPC team. As the Lead Mechanical Engineer, you will take charge of executing and overseeing technical work on EPC projects within the mechanical discipline. You’ll collaborate closely with their integrated EPC team and clients to deliver high-quality, world-class solutions for our construction team.
The Lead Mechanical Engineer’s Responsibilities Will be:
- Acts as the primary contact for mechanical engineering aspects on assigned projects, overseeing scope, budget, and timelines, and handling any changes as needed.
- Initially supports by conducting third-party mechanical reviews and ensuring quality assurance.
- Takes ownership of mechanical design deliverables and may serve as the officially registered engineer on record.
- Executes or evaluates a variety of technical engineering tasks, from basic to advanced, using current tools, standards, and calculation software.
- Reviews and prepares mechanical documentation including P&IDs, layout drawings, 3D models, isometric drawings, line and valve lists, and equipment specs.
- Works closely with internal EPC teams and clients to respond to RFIs, handle technical reviews, process change requests, and manage engineering procurement tasks.
- Helps shape project team direction, prioritizes tasks, and ensures alignment with broader project or company objectives.
- Encourages team effectiveness and a results-oriented mindset to drive successful project execution.
- Provides mentorship and technical oversight to other engineers and supports professional development within the team.
- Continuously looks for opportunities to enhance client satisfaction, improve deliverable quality, and streamline workflows.
- Contributes to the development and refinement of engineering guidelines and process standardization for internal platforms
- Maintains awareness of emerging technologies and engineering trends, applying innovative solutions where appropriate.
The Lead Mechanical Engineer's Qualifications Will be:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (minimum)
- Minimum of six years of hands-on experience in power generation, energy systems, or related industrial sectors.
- Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the skill to present technical information clearly across all organizational levels.
- Capable of managing multiple assignments under tight timelines, balancing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Skilled in reviewing and directing project schedules and control processes.
- Brings strong negotiation and presentation capabilities, with a proven track record of influencing and resolving issues across diverse stakeholders.
- Familiar with key industry regulations and technical standards, including ANSI, ASME, and NFPA.
- Experienced in performing core mechanical calculations such as flow rates, pressure drops, and equipment sizing.
- Adaptable to shifting priorities and thrives in collaborative, evolving environments.
- Offers guidance on design standards, procedures, and engineering requirements as needed.
- Works with project leadership to address scope changes and client requirements.
