Location: Sliedrecht, South Holland, the Netherlands (Rotterdam area)
Work Model: Hybrid (1 day/week home office when not traveling)
Travel: On-site visits in the Netherlands + 2–4 business trips per month in Western Europe

About the Role

We are looking for a Medior–Senior Tech Support Engineer with a strong electrical / electronics background to take ownership of complex technical support activities for our industrial SLS 3D printers across Europe.
In this role, you will independently install, commission and troubleshoot printers at customer sites, act as an escalation point for complex technical issues, and collaborate closely with global R&D teams to improve product performance and reliability.
This position is suitable for engineers with 3–5 years of relevant technical support or field engineering experience who are comfortable working independently and representing the company in front of customers.
You will work closely with our European teams (NL and Portugal) and collaborate with over 100 engineers in our Shanghai R&D hub, as well as colleagues in the US—making this a highly international environment with strong technical support behind you.
What You Will Do
Independent On-site Support & Installation (NL + Europe)
● Independently install, commission and validate industrial SLS 3D printers at customer sites (mostly day visits)
● Perform advanced troubleshooting of electrical, electronic and system-level issues
● Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions
● Ensure high system reliability and customer satisfaction
Advanced Technical Support & Escalation
● Act as escalation point for complex or recurring technical issues
● Provide remote troubleshooting via phone, email and ticketing systems
● Guide users through operational questions, maintenance and workflow optimization
● Deliver advanced customer training and technical guidance
R&D Collaboration
● Work closely with senior engineers in the Netherlands and Portugal
● Contribute to technical discussions with R&D teams, including log analysis, diagnostics and structured feedback on recurring issues.
● Contribute to documentation, best practices and internal knowledge sharing
What You Bring
Must-Have
● 3–5 years years’ experience in a technical support, field engineering, or customer-facing technical role
● Strong technical problem-solving ability
● Comfortable working hands-on with complex hardware (mechanical, electrical or electromechanical systems)
● Strong background background in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a closely related discipline
● Solid hands-on experience with circuits, power systems, sensors, control boards and diagnostics
● Proven ability to troubleshoot complex systems independently
● Fluent in English (spoken and written)
● Customer-oriented mindset and strong communication skills
● Willingness to visit customers on-site regularly and travel 2–4 times per month within Europe
Physical Requirements
● Ability to safely lift, move and handle heavy equipment and printer components
● Comfortable with hands-on physical work, including standing, bending and manual handling
Nice-to-Have
● Experience with 3D printers (SLS, FDM, SLA) or other industrial equipment
● Familiarity with CAD tools or manufacturing workflows
● Additional European languages (e.g. German, Dutch, French, Spanish)
● Chinese (Mandarin) language skills are a plus, especially for collaboration with global engineering teams
● Valid EU driving license
Work Model & Travel
● Based at our Sliedrecht office with frequent on-site visits to customers in the Netherlands
● Hybrid work: when you are not visiting customers, you can work 1 day per week from home
● Business trips: approximately 2–4 trips per month to customers in Germany, France, the Netherlands, Spain and Portugal
● Trips are mostly planned in advance; some may require short overnight stays
● All travel expenses fully covered
