Director, Strategic Membership

The Global Technology Industry Association (GTIA) is the only vendor-neutral, non-profit membership community that connects and represents the worldwide IT channel. Internationally, GTIA represents tens of thousands of professionals from more than 2,000 MSPs, solution providers, vendors, distributors, and other channel companies. Summary:

The Director, Strategic Membership is responsible for driving the expansion of GTIA’s membership base by acquiring new vendors, distributors, and their IT Service Provider partners. This role focuses on building strategic member relationships and partnerships, developing targeted prospecting campaigns, and executing sales initiatives that align with GTIA’s goals of growing membership, member value, and engagement. The ideal candidate will combine strong business development skills with a deep understanding of the IT channel ecosystem to deliver measurable growth and long-term partner engagement.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop and Execute Growth Strategy

  • Create and implement a strategic sales plan to acquire new channel vendors, distributors, MSPs, and ITSPs to expand GTIA’s membership base.

Partner Acquisition

  • Identify, engage, and onboard high-potential channel organizations through targeted outreach and relationship-building initiatives.

Pipeline Management

  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective members, ensuring accurate forecasting and timely conversion.

Relationship Management

  • Establish and nurture long-term relationships with key decision-makers at vendors, distributors, and service providers.

Market Research & Intelligence

  • Analyze industry trends, competitive landscape, and partner needs to refine acquisition strategies and value propositions.

Joint Go-to-Market Initiatives

  • Collaborate with GTIA Vendor, Distributor, and Associate members on co-selling and co-marketing programs to their ITSP partners

Sales Enablement

  • Provide prospective members with clear value propositions, ROI analysis, and resources to support decision-making.

Performance Reporting

  • Track and report on acquisition metrics, conversion rates, and revenue impact to the Chief Community Officer.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with marketing, events, and member experience teams to ensure seamless onboarding and engagement of new members.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven track record of successfully selling to C-level channel executives and business owners, demonstrating the ability to engage in strategic conversations and influence decision-making

  • Ability to create and deliver a membership value proposition to a targeted audience
  • An outstanding level of attention to detail and quality
  • Strong ability to work independently and navigate internally within a high-paced, dynamic

  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to build rapport and credibility quickly
  • Initiative to surpass challenging performance goals
  • Desire to network and travel


Education and/or Experience

  • Degree preferred but not required for the role
  • 10+ years of direct experience in a related field

Total Compensation Range (Base + Bonus): $154,000-$175,000
