Operations Manager – Operational Excellence
Location: Fully Remote (U.S.-based)
Travel: Quarterly travel required
Compensation: $80,000–$100,000 base salary + comprehensive benefits
About The Role
Our client, a high-growth, mission-driven professional education platform, is seeking an Operations Manager, Operational Excellence to own and evolve the operating backbone of the organization. This role plays a critical part in bringing structure, clarity, and execution discipline to cross-functional initiatives, systems, and internal processes.
This is not an IT or HR role. It is a hands-on operational leadership position suited for someone who thrives in environments that value accountability, process improvement, and operational rigor.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Systems & Vendor Coordination
- Own internal operational systems and act as the primary liaison between Engineering and external IT and cybersecurity vendors
- Manage vendor accountability to ensure timelines, commitments, and quality standards are consistently met
- Oversee full lifecycle management of company equipment (onboarding, offboarding, deployment)
Security, Access & Operational Hygiene
- Maintain clean, organized system documentation including vendors, contracts, and renewals
- Own access standards, permissions, and password management practices
- Coordinate security and compliance initiatives across vendors and internal teams
Project Management & Execution Discipline
- Own and drive cross-functional operational initiatives end-to-end
- Establish clear project scopes, timelines, dependencies, and delivery milestones
- Serve as an internal model for strong project management across both Agile and Waterfall environments
Operating Rhythm & EOS Ownership
- Own the company’s operating cadence, including quarterly and annual planning rhythms
- Maintain and enforce EOS standards, including Rocks, Process Day outputs, and accountability tools
- Ensure operational documentation is current, usable, and actively referenced
AI-Driven Operational Improvement
- Identify and implement AI and automation opportunities to improve efficiency, documentation, and execution quality
- Partner with leaders to pilot and scale AI-enabled workflows
- Document best practices and support adoption of approved AI tools
Company Events & Internal Experience
- Lead planning and execution of semi-annual company summits, managing logistics, budgets, vendors, and timelines
- Ensure a polished, high-quality internal employee experience
Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in operations, project management, or operational leadership
- Proven experience managing cross-functional initiatives and vendor relationships
- Strong documentation, process-building, and execution skills
- Familiarity with operating systems such as EOS, OKRs, or KPIs
- Comfortable owning systems and IT coordination in a hands-off execution model
- Experience in small-to-mid-sized organizations preferred
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, not required
