About the Role

As a Senior Backend Developer, you will design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance backend systems. You will play a key role in architectural decisions, collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, and help shape the technical direction of our platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust backend services and APIs.
• Build scalable, reliable, and high-performance systems.
• Contribute to architecture, technical strategy, and system design.
• Ensure applications meet non-functional requirements including performance, scalability, reliability, and security.
• Apply secure coding practices and support cybersecurity principles.
• Work within Linux environments and containerised platforms.
• Support and improve CI/CD pipelines, SDLC automation, and DevSecOps practices.
• Collaborate with frontend, DevOps, QA, product, and security teams.
• Participate in code reviews and mentor junior engineers.
• Identify improvement opportunities and proactively drive solutions.
• Support systems handling large data volumes and high-throughput workloads.

Technical Skills & Experience

• 7+ years of backend development experience in production environments.
• Strong experience with one or more backend languages (e.g. Java, Python, C#, Go).
• Experience with modern backend frameworks and libraries.
• Solid understanding of backend architecture and design patterns.
• Hands-on experience with Linux and containerisation (Docker).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, SDLC automation, and DevSecOps.
• Strong understanding of application security and non-functional requirements.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
• Fluency in English (additional languages are a plus).
