Summary
DistroKid is the world’s largest distributor of music to Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and beyond. Most new music today is released through DistroKid.
We’re looking for a Database Administrator & Data Engineer to join our team. This role can be hired at either the Senior or Staff level, depending on experience.
You’ll design, build, and maintain scalable data infrastructure to support millions of artists worldwide. The work spans schema design, data pipelines, performance tuning, and governance. You’ll collaborate closely with engineers, analysts, and product teams to make sure data flows securely and efficiently across our systems.

What You’ll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain reliable databases and data pipelines
- Define schema design and evolution strategies as data scales
- Build and maintain infrastructure using modern tools (e.g., Terraform)
- Monitor and optimize system performance for speed and stability
- Implement data security and governance in line with industry standards
- Partner with teams across analytics, product, and engineering
- Stay current on emerging trends in database architecture and data ops
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years as a MySQL DBA, ideally in music or entertainment
- Strong knowledge of SQL, performance tuning, and optimization
- Expertise in data modeling, schema design, and dimensional modeling
- Proficiency in Python
- Familiarity with Redshift, DBT, Dagster, Airflow, AWS, DMS, Terraform, and Redis a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

€85,000 - €115,000 EUR
UK salary range
£75,000 - £100,000 GBP
