Job Description
This freelance DevOps Engineer role is focused on supporting and optimizing cloud infrastructure for a high-impact project. The position is fully remote and spans 6–12 months, with the potential for extension based on performance. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing AWS environments, automating deployment processes, and ensuring the reliability and scalability of development operations. You will collaborate with development teams to streamline workflows, maintain robust CI/CD pipelines, and support both Linux and Windows-based systems.
Responsibilities
- Manage, monitor, and optimize AWS cloud infrastructure for performance and cost efficiency
- Administer Ubuntu/Linux servers and provide support for Windows Server environments as needed
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins
- Develop and manage containerized deployments with Docker and Kubernetes
- Support PHP/Magento environments, ensuring high availability and security
- Write automation scripts to streamline operational processes
- Collaborate with development and QA teams to troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues
- Optionally support Microsoft Azure environments if required
- Ensure best practices in security, backup, and disaster recovery
- Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer with a focus on AWS cloud services
- Strong expertise in Ubuntu/Linux administration; familiarity with Windows Server is a plus
- Proficient in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins preferred)
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes for container orchestration
- Experience supporting PHP/Magento environments
- Scripting skills in Bash, Python, or similar languages
- Knowledge of infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) is advantageous
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure is a bonus
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote setting
- Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to collaboration
- Availability for a 6–12 month freelance contract, with potential for extension
