Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to provide onsite support at a semiconductor manufacturing facility in Wilton, CT. This role will serve as a site lead responsible for managing and executing capital improvement and sustaining operations projects involving complex mechanical and process systems, including HVAC, hydronics, process piping, exhaust, plumbing, wastewater, chemical and gas distribution, and pure water systems. The successful candidate will bring 15+ years of experience in scope development, design review, and project execution, with a strong emphasis on safety, code compliance, and vendor coordination. Acting as the owner’s representative, this individual will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, contractors, and site stakeholders to deliver projects from concept through construction and turnover, while mentoring internal staff and ensuring adherence to engineering standards, schedules, and budgets. This is a contract-to-hire, fully onsite position offering relocation assistance on a case-by-case basis. Responsibilities:
As a facilities Site-Lead Senior Engineer, you will work on projects that enable the heart of our client’s semi-conductor manufacturing in Wilton, CT. You will manage the site’s capital improvements team and serve as the owner’s representative and operations interface for capital projects. You will collaborate with on-site design teams on planning, execution, and closeout, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, budget, and project delivery standards.
- Oversee design, procurement, and construction for equipment renewal and replacement projects.
- You will work on sustaining operations, executing capital projects, and transferring technical knowledge to the in-house Engineering group.
- Sustain Operations: Provide daily engineering support to Maintenance and vendors.
- Execute Capital Projects: Deliver engineering expertise from concept through construction and turnover.
- Transfer Knowledge: Mentor ASML staff and integrate standards and tools into the Certified Reliability engineering (CRE) roadmap.
- Over see a multidiscipline team of 5-6 engineers and designers (Mechanical, Electrical, I&C, Reliability, Drafting/Design Technician, Project Engineer)
You and your team members will work closely with client owners in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. In this role you will collaborate with on-site personnel to support projects of varying size and complexity including assessment of systems, consulting system owners and analyzing scope requests from stakeholders.
The successful candidate will be responsible for interacting with the client, contractors, and site personnel. Your job includes designing, developing, evaluating, and preparing recommendations with basis of design (BOD), scope of work (SOW) documents, in addition to design, construction and specifications documents through the positional (programming) process with a team.
You’ll oversee QA/QC on engineering and construction for the facility mechanical/process systems work including HVAC, process cooling water, wastewater, general and acid/ammonia exhaust, fire protection, plumbing, process-piping and equipment. The work will include retrofits of existing building systems as well as new systems.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from ABET Accredited University
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Connecticut or ability to obtain within 3 months (active NCEES record)
• Fifteen (15) or more years of practical application of process and mechanical and process facilities engineering, including HVAC, hydronics, process piping, exhaust, plumbing, waste systems, chemical and gas distribution, pure water, and related mechanical-process facilities systems
• Solid knowledge and application of the mechanical/process requirements per ASME and ASME B31.3, building codes, fire codes, code compliance (SEMI, NFPA, IBC/IMC, CT) amendments. and other related standards such as ASHRAE.
• Solid knowledge in practice and procedures for specifications and selection of all types of mechanical equipment and components
• Experience reviewing vendor submittal packages against client requirements and specifications
• Field experience interacting with subcontractors and construction personnel
• Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams
• Working knowledge of design-related deliverables such as P&IDs, PFDs, Details, and Equipment Plans, etc.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and leadership experience
Ideally, you will also have:
• Five (5) years of experience as a facility engineer
• Working knowledge of the following:
• - Maintenance & Reliability Support
• - Utilities & Infrastructure Design and Reliability Analysis
• - Capital Project Engineering
• - Controls & Automation
• - Documentation & BIM – Proficient working knowledge of design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks or BIM360 (Building Information Modeling)

Location:
• This is an onsite position requiring work to be performed on the client site in Wilton, CT.
• Candidate must be willing to commute to the site Monday-Friday during normal business hours – nominally 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with some flexibility based on ability of site to support and employee preference.
Physical Requirements:
• Position requires field visits and walks at an active client site in various stages of construction. Applicant must be able to walk long distances, sit and stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, twist, crawl, climb ladders, work on catwalks, work in small spaces, lift and carry up to 25lbs.
