We are looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test & Tools to join one of Rovio’s most successful live games, Angry Birds Friends – the last true slingshot game from our iconic IP, with strong growth potential ahead.
In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring high quality and smooth player experience by building robust testing and tooling solutions for both manual and automated workflows, contributing not only to the game team but also at studio level.
This position is located in our Barcelona studio. We are able to provide work permit sponsorship if needed, but we are not offering relocation support for this role.
You will have impact and fun at work by:
- Designing, implementing and maintaining tools for manual and automated testing of game features in Unity.
- Owning the full lifecycle of testing tooling, from technical design and feasibility assessment to implementation, documentation and continuous improvement.
- Ensuring high code quality, usability and scalability of the tools you develop.
- Supporting the team in reaching project goals by improving testing efficiency, stability and processes.
- Mentoring less experienced team members and sharing best practices across the studio.
- Actively collaborating with developers, QA, and other disciplines to raise overall quality standards.
- Solid programming skills in C#, with solid software engineering foundations.
- Proven experience in test automation and tool development, ideally in Unity-based environments.
- Good understanding of software architecture, clean code practices and CI systems (e.g. Jenkins).
- Experience with testing frameworks, agile development methods and mobile platforms.
- Experience with configuration and content management tools (e.g. AB Testing).
- Ability to evaluate technical feasibility, estimate work, identify risks and prioritise effectively.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, proactive mindset.
- Solid professional experience in software development, testing or tools engineering.
- Experience developing workflows using AI-assisted tools (e.g. Copilot, Claude, MCP, automation agents).
- Knowledge of Unity UI Toolkit.
- Background in game development or live service environments.
