Job Description

About Lucey

Lucey is a collection of businesses. We acquire small companies with unrealised potential and help them succeed through stronger financial discipline, smarter technology, better organisation, and improved people practices.

As the group grows, we’re building consistent, practical HR foundations across our businesses. This role plays a key part in making that happen

The role

We’re hiring an HR Manager based in India to support a portfolio of UK businesses.

This is a hands-on operational HR role, focused on building, documenting, and running core HR processes end to end. You’ll work autonomously day to day, while staying closely aligned with the CPO through clear, proactive communication.

This role suits someone who enjoys creating structure, owning delivery, and keeping things moving, rather than purely advising from the sidelines.

What you’ll be doing

HR Processes, Documentation & Compliance

  • Build, document, and maintain clear HR processes across the employee lifecycle
  • Create simple PPT process flowcharts linked to templates and forms
  • Ensure processes are followed consistently across businesses
  • Maintain RACIs and lifecycle checklists (onboarding, probation, exit)
  • Ensure documentation is compliant and properly stored across regions

Performance & Probation Management

  • Track probation timelines and ensure reviews are completed on time
  • Manage probation outcomes, involving the CPO at agreed stages
  • Define and run performance and appraisal processes
  • Support managers with performance issues and early intervention
  • Capture training needs and provide consolidated insight to the CPO

HR Operations & Employee Relations

  • Manage the HR inbox and provide a daily summary to the CPO with recommendations
  • Handle employee relations matters professionally and confidently
  • Conduct return-to-work interviews and exit interviews
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation

Onboarding, Payroll & Recruitment Support

  • Manage onboarding for new starters globally
  • Support payroll inputs and queries in collaboration with Finance
  • Conduct early-stage interviews where required
  • Maintain consistent hiring documentation and interview formats

What success looks like

You’ll be successful if you:

  • Build clear, usable HR processes that are followed consistently
  • Keep probation, performance, and documentation on track without gaps
  • Handle employee relations issues calmly and appropriately
  • Provide proactive updates so issues are flagged early, not late
  • Become a reliable operational partner to the CPO and business leaders

About you

You’ll be a great fit if you have:

  • Hands-on experience managing HR operations and employee relations
  • Experience building and running HR processes, not just advising
  • Strong attention to detail across contracts, letters, and records
  • Confidence working independently across multiple businesses
  • Excellent written and spoken English

Nice to have:

  • Experience supporting UK businesses from India
  • Familiarity with BrightHR or similar HRIS tools
  • Experience creating HR templates, toolkits, or training materials

If you’re excited about the role but don’t meet every requirement, we still encourage you to apply.

Why join Lucey

  • High ownership and real responsibility
  • Exposure to multiple businesses and real-world HR challenges
  • Opportunity to shape how HR works across a growing group
  • Close working relationship with a hands-on CPO
  • Practical, delivery-focused environment

Working style & location

  • Fully remote role based in India
  • You’ll operate autonomously, with clear expectations and daily communication
  • Structured, delivery-focused working style

Inclusion & equal opportunities

We’re committed to building a team with diverse backgrounds and perspectives. If you need adjustments to take part in the recruitment process, please let us know — we’ll do our best to support you.
