Senior Software & ML Engineer

Location: Remote (Austin, TX preferred)

Compensation: $140k–$160k base + bonus + equity

About the Role

Building vehicle localization and navigation systems that work when GPS doesn’t — in environments where traditional positioning systems fail.

This is a deeply technical, hands-on role focused on vehicle integration, sensor fusion, mapping, and ML-driven navigation. You’ll work close to hardware, firmware, and raw vehicle data, building systems from the ground up in a fast-moving startup environment.

If you enjoy experimenting, reverse-engineering, and owning real production systems — this role is for you.

What You’ll Work On

• Vehicle localization and navigation
• Sensor fusion using internal vehicle data and maps
• Autonomous and off-road navigation systems
• ML approaches for perception and localization (non-CV, non-LiDAR)
• Integration with vehicle firmware and data streams
• Mapping, GIS, and topographical data processing
• Prototyping, testing, and iterating quickly

What We’re Looking For

Core Skills

• Strong C++ experience (systems, embedded, or robotics)
• Vehicle integration, robotics, or autonomous systems experience
• Comfort working close to hardware and firmware
• Strong computer science fundamentals
• Ability to work with limited documentation and ambiguity

Bonus Points

• Autonomous driving or wheeled robotics experience
• ML background
• GIS, mapping, or topographical data experience
• Particle filters or probabilistic state estimation
• Firmware, PCB, or reverse-engineering experience
• Open-source contributor background
