Our Store Systems Engineering team is seeking a Senior Engineer to join the team. This team is responsible for the design, integration, and support of various retail technologies, such as, Point of Sale, Self-Checkout (SCO), ATM, department scales, and automatic meat wrappers. As a senior engineer, you’ll play an integral role in how our customers and store associates interact with our systems.

- Defining, developing, maintaining, and advising on the effective use of Publix technology architecture in our retail stores
- Implementing and maintaining various engineering systems, including POS and Self-Checkout systems, ATMs, Department Scales, Auto Wrappers, and Special Hardware Projects
- Software and hardware architecture design, installation, configuration, integration, and support

- Bachelor's Degree in computer science or an analytical discipline, or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of experience supporting Windows systems and related infrastructure software and hardware in a medium to large environment
- In-depth knowledge of multiple hardware vendor platforms (POS terminals, Self-Checkout, ATMs, Department Scales, Peripherals, etc.)
- In-depth experience implementing, migrating, managing, and administering Windows 10 and Windows 11 desktop operating systems in a large corporate environment
- Experience in creating and managing group policy objects
- 4+ years of experience designing, planning, implementing, and supporting large releases
- Strong experience working in ServiceNow Incident Management, working incidents to completion, and maintaining highly effective knowledge articles
- Experience with automating application installation and configuration of drivers and vendor provided software needed for hardware functionality
- Experience securing and hardening diverse technologies, platforms, and applications
- Expertise with a broad range of server-based technologies including Active Directory and Microsoft SCCM
- In-depth knowledge of Secure Configuration Management (SCM) methodologies and best practices
- In-depth understanding of System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies
- Ability to anticipate and identify issues that conflict with security and compliance requirements
- Experience leading projects from requirements through implementation
- Experience working in a process-structured environment which includes Change Management, Incident/Problem Management, and Disaster Recovery Preparedness
- Experience with compliance and regulatory security requirements (SOX, PCI, HIPAA)

As a year-end bonus to associates, Publix issues one month’s extra pay (pro-rated in the first year) each year if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check that year. This is calculated as a 13th month of pay in the Potential Annual Pay with Bonus line above.
