Senior Backend Java Developer for Enterprise Master Data Management Platform

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Backend Java Developer to support a mission-critical Enterprise Master Data Management (MDM) platform that powers a large-scale customer data and CRM ecosystem. This role is 100% backend focused with no front-end development and offers the opportunity to work on highly scalable, data-intensive systems.

The ideal candidate is a strong Java engineer with deep experience in enterprise application development, REST API design, and SQL, who can also provide technical leadership and mentorship.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support enterprise Java/J2EE applications from end to end
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs using JSON and XML
• Develop and optimize complex SQL queries (Informix or PostgreSQL preferred)
• Support production systems, including log analysis, root cause analysis, and on-call support
• Collaborate with project managers, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams
• Provide technical leadership, architecture guidance, and mentoring to developers
• Work with offsite development teams and external service providers
• Ensure applications adhere to engineering standards, processes, and best practices
• Participate in architecture, design, development, QA, and deployment activities

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of backend Java development experience
• Strong experience with Java, Spring Framework, JBoss, and enterprise J2EE design patterns
• Proven experience developing REST APIs
• Strong SQL skills with experience in Informix, PostgreSQL, DB2, or Oracle
• Experience supporting and troubleshooting production systems
• Solid understanding of application performance tuning and monitoring
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a remote environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Master Data Management (MDM) or ETL tools (Informatica preferred)
• Experience with Datadog or similar monitoring tools
• Previous consulting experience
• AWS Developer or Java certification

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred
• Equivalent practical experience will be considered
