BURLEBO APPAREL DESIGNER (DESIGNER II)
Great products aren’t just something you wear—they’re meant to be used, relied on, and lived in. We’re looking for an experienced Apparel Designer with a focus on men’s and youth products (athletic, lifestyle, tops, bottoms, and outerwear) to join our Austin-based team and help shape the future of our brand.
This is a highly influential role for a designer who excels at blending fit, fabric, and function, and who’s excited to create seasonal collections in a fast-moving, collaborative environment. The position reports to the Design Director and is based at our Austin headquarters, with relocation support available.
What You’ll Do
- Design seasonal assortments across tops and bottoms, ensuring alignment with brand vision, customer needs, and pricing strategies
- Collaborate with the Design Director to develop seasonal narratives grounded in trend, market, and brand insights
- Research trends, fabrics, trims, and construction methods relevant to each category
- Create original concepts, sketches, and detailed tech packs from initial idea through production handoff
- Help establish fabric and trim direction in partnership with sourcing teams and mill vendors
- Work closely with Product Development/Technical Design to oversee fit, construction, and costing
- Participate in fittings, delivering clear feedback to maintain consistent fit across categories
- Foster adherence to seasonal timelines while meeting key calendar milestones
- Maintain high design standards, quality expectations, and brand consistency
- Occasional travel for both vendor visits and inspiration

What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Design (BA, BFA, or BS) or equivalent professional experience
- 5 - 7+ years of experience designing (mostly men’s) apparel
- Knowledge of fit, patternmaking, and garment construction
- Experience across a range of categories, including shirts, pants, shorts and layering
- Ability to carry designs from concept to production, including BOMs, fit notes, and vendor communication
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and PLM systems
- Experience using AI-driven design tools for ideation, visual concepting, mood boards, and early exploration of color, print, and fabric ideas
- Exceptional organization and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, cross-functional mindset
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and passionate about design
