To support this next chapter, MessApps is hiring a hands-on operator CEO who can execute the Board’s vision, scale predictable recurring revenue, and deliver the KPIs, operating rigor, and transparency required by investors.


This role is intentionally designed to professionalize execution, provide hands-on management, lead day-to-day operations and revenue expansion, and enable scalable growth.


Role Overview

The CEO will lead the transformation and scale of MessApps into a predictable, high-performing, Mobile & Web Design, Development, and AI automation platform with strong recurring revenue models (MRR & ARR).


You will:

  • Own and grow the full P&L
  • Deliver and scale subscription-based offerings and grow and oversee MRR/ARR through the sales organization
  • Lead, manage and expand all departments (sales, marketing, delivery, development, design, AI)
  • Oversee team performance, operational efficiency, and ROI
  • Build and optimize KPI-driven systems, dashboards, and operational clarity
  • Improve and expand revenue, gross margins, retention, and LTV
  • Reduce CAC through disciplined growth systems
  • Scale the AI Agents & Automation division into a core recurring revenue engine
  • Produce reporting and updates for the Board and investors
  • Support deal-flow integration for acquired products, platforms, or teams



You will serve as the Integrator to the Board’s Visionary — translating strategy into execution, predictability, accountability, and measurable revenue performance.


The CEO has day-to-day operating responsibility across all functions, with strategic direction and capital decisions overseen by the Board.


Ideal Candidate Profile


You are a hands-on technical GTM operator with deep experience scaling mobile & web app design & development, AI agent & automations implementations, and recurring revenue ecosystems to clients including Founders, SMBs, and others. You are a no-excuses, solutions oriented hands-on leader and problem solver. You’re able to lead and foster execution, meeting and exceeding expectations and defined growth KPIs with precision.


You have successfully scaled one or more of the following:


  • Mobile app or digital product agencies
  • Software engineering studios
  • AI automation or AI agent service companies
  • Digital transformation consultancies
  • MarTech or product-driven agencies



You bring deep experience in:


  • Full P&L ownership and scaling of a $3M–$20M+ organization
  • Scaling teams from ~20 to 50+
  • Building robust MRR and ARR revenue pipelines
  • Designing and deploying subscription-based and productized service offerings
  • KPI-driven operations and delivery management
  • AI agent workflows (GoHighLevel, Make, n8n, LLMs, Voice AI)
  • Enterprise and mid-market delivery
  • Sales and marketing alignment and revenue architecture
  • Improving client retention, LTV, and net revenue retention (NRR)
  • Agency pricing, margin protection, and scalable operating models



Bonus points if you have:


  • Served as CEO, COO, GM, President, VP Engineering, VP AI, or founder of an agency
  • Built recurring revenue models (subscriptions, retainers, AI-as-a-service)
  • Led enterprise AI automation or multi-agent implementations
  • Produced investor-grade financial and performance reporting
  • Experience integrating M&A or acquired service-based businesses

Key Responsibilities


1. Leadership & Vision Execution

Translate Board vision, revenue & growth targets into quarterly OKRs and execution plans

Lead all teams with clarity, accountability, and execution rigor

Build operational predictability through structured weekly and monthly rhythms


2. P&L Ownership & Revenue Scaling

Full executional ownership of revenue, EBITDA, and financial forecasting

Build, optimize, & scale subscription-based service offerings across all divisions

Grow MRR and ARR through disciplined sales oversight & execution

Implement margin-protection systems and cost controls

Standardize and oversee delivery frameworks and operating processes


3. AI Agents & Automation Expansion

Lead the growth of all AI-based recurring services, including:

Voice AI receptionists

AI outbound SDR and appointment-setting agents

AI support and chat agents

Workflow automation subscription plans

Multi-agent AI systems for SMBs and enterprise

Position MessApps as a truly AI-enabled organization with defensible, recurring revenue.


4. Sales, Marketing & Growth

Oversee Sales Team, Marketing, and all growth KPIs

Reduce CAC and increase ROAS across channels

Strengthen & optimize inbound and outbound funnels

Build predictable weekly pipeline metrics

Support SMB, startup, and enterprise sales cycles


5. Delivery & Client Success

Maintain MessApps’ perfect 5-star client satisfaction record

Expand retention, LTV, and NRR through recurring services

Manage & Improve delivery speed, quality, and operational consistency

Optimize client success frameworks that support long-term subscription revenue


6. Reporting to Board & Investors

Produce & deliver financial statements and KPI dashboards

Deliver quarterly investor-grade performance reports and regular updates

Communicate strategy, risks, solutions, updates and forecasts with clarity

Maintain fiduciary-grade operational transparency


7. Team Development & Culture

Recruit and scale leadership across departments according to guildelines and budget

Manage a high-output remote culture with strong accountability

Implement weekly KPI scorecards and performance management


8. Acquisition Integration (Post-Close)

Ensure seamless delivery of MessApps’ service stack to acquired apps and digital businesses

Deploy MessApps’ development, AI, and marketing teams across acquired assets

Ensure all acquisitions contribute to recurring revenue and margin expansion

Weekly KPI dashboards and performance live across sales, marketing, delivery, and finance


Subscription and AI service offerings fully packaged and actively selling


Predictable weekly pipeline, bookings, and revenue visibility


Clear org structure, planned hires, and leadership bench in place and producing to clearly defined KPI & growth metrics


Board-ready reporting cadence established


Founder fully transitioned out of day-to-day execution


Required Skills & Experience

  • 7–15+ years in digital agencies, AI services, or software product companies
  • Proven ability to scale a business toward $10M–$30M+ revenue
  • Deep understanding of MRR, ARR, and subscription economics
  • Strong P&L ownership, forecasting, and financial modeling skills
  • Hands-on experience with AI agents and workflow automation
  • Strong sales, marketing, and operations leadership
  • Excellent communication with investors, clients, and teams
  • Highly organized, disciplined, and execution-oriented



Compensation

Contract → Full-Time Transition


6–12 month performance-based contract with defined KPIs


Base compensation


Significant, uncapped monthly and quarterly performance bonuses
