Senior Data Engineer

Are you a Data Engineer who thrives on building scalable, end-to-end data solutions?

We are looking on behalf of our energy client for someone to design and own modern data pipelines on Snowflake and AWS, automate manual processes, and deliver solutions that directly impact how the business works with data. This is more than just building tables - it’s about shaping products, collaborating with stakeholders, and creating smarter, faster, more digital ways of working!

We’re supporting a fast-moving organisation on their journey to modernise their data platform and unlock the full potential of their analytics ecosystem.

What you’ll do:

• Design, build, and own ETL/ELT pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and delivery.
• Use advanced Snowflake features (streams, tasks, Snowpipe, performance tuning etc.) to deliver scalable, optimised solutions.
• Partner with stakeholders to understand problems, shape requirements, and propose improvements that go beyond the initial ask.
• Drive automation and digitalisation to reduce manual steps and improve efficiency.
• Integrate solutions with AWS CDK.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end, product-focused data solutions.
• Communicate technical trade-offs and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.

What you’ll bring:

• Strong experience with SQL and Python in data engineering.
• Hands-on expertise with Snowflake, including build, optimisation and automation features.
• Proven track record building and owning end-to-end ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Experience with AWS CDK
• Understanding of BI/visualisation tools and how end users consume data.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership, and deliver in environments where requirements evolve.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with a product-oriented mindset.

Nice to have:

• Experience with automation frameworks and CI/CD for data pipelines.
• Broader exposure to data architectures and modern tools (e.g. dbt, Airflow, Streamlit).
• Knowledge of data security and compliance requirements.
