Systems Engineer III

📍 On-site | Portsmouth, NH

About the Role

An experienced Systems Engineer to support high-availability operations through hands-on technical ownership of computerized systems infrastructure supporting process automation and QC laboratory environments. This role partners closely with Operations to ensure systems are secure, reliable, compliant, and production-ready.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide infrastructure support for automation, analytics, QC, and operational systems (servers, networks, storage, workstations, client devices)
  • Maintain system integrity and identify performance, reliability, and security improvements
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues across production and laboratory environments
  • Author and execute commissioning and validation protocols (IQ/OQ/PQ, test scripts)
  • Own change requests and actively participate in change control processes
  • Support root cause investigations as the Operations Information Systems (OIS) representative
  • Review and update SOPs, functional specifications, and work instructions following CAPAs and system/process changes

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 5–10+ years applying IT principles in regulated, high-availability production or lab systems
  • Experience supporting process automation systems (biotech/pharma strongly preferred)
  • Hands-on experience with Syncade
  • Strong documentation skills (networks, interfaces, data flows, infrastructure)
  • Proficiency in Windows, Linux, Unix, and Cisco networking
  • Strong experience with SQL Server, OSIsoft PI, and working knowledge of VBScript, .NET, and SQL
  • Experience with backup, recovery, and deployment tools (e.g., Veeam, Acronis, Ghost)
