Overview
Stathletes is revolutionizing professional hockey data and analytics for the world’s premier leagues, teams, players, agents, media, sportsbooks and digital platforms. Our mission is to offer the most comprehensive dataset in sports to drive the most accurate and insightful statistical analysis available in the market.
And we’re looking for an experienced React/Rails Developer to join our team! As a key member you will take ownership of the development of our software suite that services our internal teams, sports clubs, media and the world’s premier hockey leagues.
Compensation & Hiring Transparency
- Compensation range: $115,000–$165,000 CAD annually. Starting compensation will be based on experience, skills, and qualifications
- This is a new role, not an existing vacancy
- We use automated LinkedIn tools to assist with screening applicant experience
- Candidates who are interviewed will be notified of a hiring decision within 45 days
The Role
As a React/Rails Developer you’ll lead full stack development of our software offerings, from our internal tooling to our public-facing portals. Working closely with our CTO and a team of Full-Stack, Database and DevOps engineers, you will make real and meaningful contributions to the world of data in professional sports, coach junior developers and have significant influence over our design choices and technology stack as we scale to deliver cutting-edge features and insights in our next phase of growth.
This role also provides an exciting opportunity to build software that integrates with cutting-edge AI, being part of a team that is shaping how the world creates and consumes sports data.
About You

- Experience building and maintaining highly performant React components with complex states (familiarity with state management libraries e.g. Redux, etc)
- Experience with modern web framework and API development with Ruby on Rails
- A strong grasp and experience with relational databases; including various flavours of SQL
- Familiarity with version control best practices (e.g. Github)
- A solid foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, distributed systems, algorithms and software design
- A passion for clean code architecture and software craftsmanship
- Experience with testing frameworks
- Knowledge and familiarity with performance strategies and tooling
- Interest in computer vision and other applications of machine learning (this is a nice-to-have)
- Experience with B2B (this is a nice-to-have)
- A love of hockey, and/or a passion for delivering data products
