Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Strategic HR Support: Assist management by offering grounded, best-practice guidance on HR processes, workforce planning, and policy interpretation—all while gaining exposure to senior-level decision-making
- Policy Design & Governance: Collaborate on the review, update, and creation of HR policies and programs that foster a compliant, inclusive, and values-aligned workplace. Take ownership of tracking regulatory changes and embedding them thoughtfully into operations
- Project Coordination & Execution: Contribute to impactful HR projects that improve employee experience and align with business priorities—bringing ideas to life through thoughtful planning and collaboration
- Compliance & Risk Awareness: Submit accurate reports and help monitor adherence to employment legislation and industry standards (e.g., Harassment and Violence Prevention, Employment Equity)
- Leadership Enablement: Support managers and supervisors with training resources, coaching tools, and day-to-day HR guidance—empowering others while building your own leadership toolkit
- Continuous Improvement & Insight: Assist in the development of HR metrics and dashboards, using insights to enhance workflows and foster a data-aware approach to decision-making
What You'll Bring:
We’re looking for someone who blends strategic insight with hands-on capability—ready to contribute confidently and grow meaningfully. You'll thrive in this role if you bring:
- Superior writing ability to draft, update, and maintain HR policies with clarity and precision
- Comfort and professionalism navigating employee relations matters with tact and care
- Strong working knowledge of employment law, WCB, human rights legislation, and labour relations practices
- Advanced interpersonal and communication skills, rooted in discretion, ethical judgment, and confidentiality
- Analytical strength, with strong Excel and data skills to support HR metrics and decisions
- A proactive mindset and passion for process improvement and organizational optimization
- A collaborative approach and the ability to build trust with stakeholders across teams

Qualifications & Condition of Employment:
- Degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field—or equivalent relevant experience
- Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience
- Strong foundation in Canadian employment law
- CPHR designation or actively working towards certification
- Experience with federally regulated organizations, unionized settings, or payroll practices
- Project management experience is a plus
- Must be a Canadian citizen, Permanent Resident, or have proof of the legal right to work in Canada
