We are partnering with a fast-growing deep tech organization building next-generation AI products at scale. They are seeking an experienced Engineering Director to lead multiple teams working on Large Language Models and advanced machine learning systems that directly power real-world products.

The role

You will lead several engineering teams focused on model development, experimentation, and evaluation. You will shape technical strategy, influence product direction, and work closely with research, platform, and business stakeholders to deliver robust, production-ready ML solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor engineering managers and senior technical leaders across multiple teams
• Own strategy and execution for ML and LLM model development and evaluation
• Define best practices for experimentation, benchmarking, and reproducibility
• Drive cross-functional collaboration across Product, Research, Platform, and Leadership

• Oversee delivery timelines, technical risks, and resource planning
• Communicate technical progress and insights clearly to senior stakeholders
• Make high-impact technical trade-offs balancing performance, scalability, and efficiency

Essential requirements

• Strong, hands-on experience with LLMs and Machine Learning. No exceptions
• Master’s degree minimum in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Physics, or similar
• Senior leadership experience managing multiple engineering or data teams
• Deep understanding of ML pipelines, model evaluation, and analytics frameworks
• Product-oriented mindset with experience delivering ML-powered products
